Liverpool haven’t been afraid to splash the cash this summer. They are set to continue that after agreeing a Premier League record fee for a deadline day transfer.

The Reds have already signed the likes of Florian Wirtz, Hugo Ekitike and Jeremie Frimpong this summer for sizeable fees. With the deadline set at 7pm on Monday, Liverpool are increasing their urgency to complete multiple deals as they aim to retain the Premier League title.

Liverpool Reach £130m Agreement With Premier League Rivals For Transfer Of Alexander Isak

According to David Ornstein, Liverpool have reached a total agreement with Newcastle United for the signing of Alexander Isak.

The deal includes a £130 million package for the 25-year-old.

Additionally, Isak is set for a medical on Monday before his long-awaited deadline day switch to the Reds.

The Sweden international has been trying to force a move away from St James’ Park this summer as he set his sights on a move to the Premier League champions. Finally, Isak seems to have had his wish granted in the nick of time, as a move is set to be completed before the 7pm deadline.

Newcastle can now focus on signing Brentford‘s Yoane Wissa, with the 28-year-old stating his desire to leave Brentford in his Instagram story on Sunday. Wissa has been heavily linked with a move to the Magpies, and he intends to complete his transfer on Monday.

Liverpool: The Complete Package with Isak’s Arrival?

Isak was tipped as one of the world’s best last season and rightly so. The Swede netted 27 times and assisted a further six in 42 appearances.

Additionally, Newcastle ended their 70-year wait for a major trophy in March, as Eddie Howe’s side beat Liverpool two-one in the Carabao Cup final. One of the goal scorers was Isak.

The 25-year-old firmly put himself in the shop window after his standout display against Liverpool in December earned the Magpies a draw. Isak bagged a goal and an assist, showing what a fantastic addition he would be to the Premier League champions.

For Liverpool, there has been a hole at the striker position ever since Roberto Firmino’s departure in 2023. Isak will definitely plug that hole.

The striker’s six-foot-four frame and frightening pace will thrive in a Liverpool side that focuses on quick transitions from defence to attack.

Furthermore, Isak’s Premier League experience and devastating finishing will only add to a side that scored 86 league goals last season.

Additionally, Mo Salah’s relentless chance creation means Isak would most certainly improve on last season’s impressive tally.

The Swedish international could be the final piece to Liverpool’s jigsaw, and the Premier League points record could be in danger this season if Isak stays injury free.

However, Isak has had spells on the sidelines in all three of his seasons in the North East.
