Luton Town could lose outcast striker Lasse Nordås this window with two Championship sides interested in his services.
The Norwegian only arrived at Kenilworth Road in February, but has found himself out of place in new manager Jack Wilshere’s plans, with Jerry Yates and Nahki Wells rotating the starting spot for the Hatters over the festive fixtures.
Luton Could Sanction Exit
With six strikers at the club right now, some players may be moved on in order to make space for new signings and help Luton recover from their two-year slide under Wilshere.
One of those to leave could be Lasse Nordås, who has failed to feature in a squad since the start of December, playing four minutes against Port Vale in one of 11 League One appearances he has made this campaign.
According to Norwegian outlet TV2, both Wrexham and Sheffield Wednesday are interested in a move for the 23-year-old forward, with Luton changing their stance on a sale for the former Bodo/Glimt player.
However, both the Owls and Red Dragons face serious competition to sign Nordås, with Eirik Nesset Hjelvik stating that the player would instead prefer to move to Dutch Eredivisie side Heerenveen on a loan deal and reject any offers to step up to the Championship.
Wrexham face a similar situation to Luton Town in their striker department, with Paul Mullin’s return from loan at Wigan Athletic making him the seventh striker in Phil Parkinson’s squad.
Sheffield Wednesday are looking to be active in the transfer market this window after the EFL’s transfer sanctions were lifted, albeit with some restrictions including a transfer spend ban.
🚨 Wednesday, as things stand, are permitted to bring in just TWO loanees this month. However, their salaries will have to be covered by their parent club, an obstacle Henrik Pedersen admits has reduced their options.
It’s far from ideal. ⬇️#SWFChttps://t.co/r1AwIpbKkX

Cutting Down Squad Key
Luton Town need to get rid of some members of a bloated squad, and moving on a striker which hasn’t really delivered is a good start to that process.
Lasse Nordås was a firm favourite of Matt Bloomfield during his tenure at Kenilworth Road, but has seemingly failed to impress his successor in Jack Wilshere who has instead opted for Yates and Wells as his forward options.
With Ali Al-Hamadi edging closer to a return from injury, it is unlikely the Norwegian will get any playing time going forward and a loan exit is on the cards to Heerenveen.
While Wrexham and more particularly Sheffield Wednesday would have been enticing prospects to join, a move to the Eredivisie is a no-brainer and will allow Nordås to test himself against European-calibre squads like Ajax and PSV Eindhoven.
What happens in the summer remains to be seen, but it would be unsurprising if they cash in on what has been an underwhelming signing from their efforts to avoid relegation from the Championship.
