Luton Town attacker Millenic Ali has emerged as a transfer target for three EFL Championship clubs, following the Hatters’ relegation last season.

According to journalist Pete O’Rourke, Leicester City, Sheffield United, and Middlesbrough are all reported to be interested in the Irishman.

The 25-year-olds rich vain of goal-scoring form towards the end of last campaign wasn’t enough to save Luton, but has attracted major attention from sides in the second tier.

Luton Town Striker In Demand

Despite suffering relegation on the final day of the season, Millenic Ali looks set to claim a stay of execution in the EFL Championship. He was one of the few bright sparks for the Bedfordshire outfit last term after joining them in the January transfer window.

He spent the first half of the campaign with Exeter City in EFL League One, where he scored nine goals in 25 appearances for the Grecians.

Having made the step up, Ali showcased his worth during the 16 appearances he made for Luton Town. He particularly enjoyed a purple patch at the very end of the season, in which he scored four goals in the last six matches.

His form appears to have been impeccably timed, with the possibility of a Championship move firmly on the cards.

Championship Clubs to Compete for Luton Town Man

A new era is dawning at all three of the clubs credited with an interest in Ali. Leicester City and Sheffield United both patter company with their respective bosses following their Premier League relegation.

Middlesbrough will also have a new man in the technical area, in the shape of Rob Edwards.

The versatility of Ali is undoubtedly a key factor in his growing popularity. While he has predominantly been utilised as a centre forward, he can also be deployed on either wing.

The 25-year-old’s dynamic style would provide an extra weapon to the attacking options of all three interested sides.

Leicester City Seeks to Bolster Squad

Millenic Ali has enjoyed a steady rise through the English football pyramid, having begun his senior career in the North East with South Shields. But now, former Premier League champions Leicester City are credited with interest in him.

It looks set to be a summer of uncertainty at the King Power Stadium, with Ruud Van Nistelrooy still in charge despite being told he would be leaving. The club is also aiming to decrease its wage bill and expect various outgoings.

With Jamie Vardy set to leave, and the Foxes facing a battle to keep hold of in-demand winger Stephy Mavididi, Leicester’s attacking options are dwindling. Therefore, it’s no surprise to see them linked with players with an eye for goal.

Sheffield United and Middlesbrough Keen to Strengthen

Sheffield United will begin the new season under the guidance of new manager Ruben Selles, determined to bounce back from their play-off final defeat.

After a largely positive season which saw them amass 90 points, the Blades are on the lookout for players to maintain these high standards.

Middlesbrough narrowly missed out on a play-off spot last term and is preparing for a fresh assault under new head coach Rob Edwards. The Teesiders’ recruitment has been impressive of late and they are likely to back their new boss this summer.
