Everton and Tottenham Hotspur are both interested in signing Manchester City midfielder Jack Grealish after he has fallen out of favour under Pep Guardiola.
The Englishman is still the Cityzens’ record signing after his arrival from Aston Villa in 2021, but has struggled for consistent game time in the past few seasons.
Although he has made many appearances off the bench this season, the form of wingers Jeremy Doku, Savinho, and others has meant that he has not been able to break into the first team this season.
He may look for a fresh start away from Manchester this summer, with two clubs in the Premier League showing interest in the Birmingham native.
Grealish Moving On?
According to Ben Jacobs, Everton and Tottenham Hotspur hold a genuine interest in signing Manchester City winger Jack Grealish this summer.
Everton reportedly want to sign Grealish on a loan deal this season, with the Evertonians also wanting City to cover some of his wages if he were to make the move.
Spurs would be more likely to pursue a permanent move for Grealish, with Jacobs also reporting that City would command a fee of around ÂŁ50 million to let him leave.
Loan or Permanent for Grealish?
Whatever a potential deal for Grealish may look like, it does seem that he will be leaving Manchester City this summer.
His struggle for gametime this season will be an instigator for his exit, with a player of his talent being far too good to sit on the bench for another season.
With the reported fee of around ÂŁ50 million, it could certainly tempt some clubs to make a move for Grealish this summer, but if City were to allow him to move on loan, it could tempt clubs who could not afford the transfer fee.
Overall, it depends on what Pep Guardiola and the Man City board feel is best for both the club and Grealish, with both options having their benefits.
Where Should He Go?
With previous interest in the transfer window from Newcastle United, Grealish will not be short of suitors this transfer window.
Everton would likely be the destination that would guarantee him the most game time, but clubs such as Newcastle and Tottenham will both be competing in the UEFA Champions League next season.
In order to remain competitive next season, he may be better off joining one of these Champions League clubs, but the possibility of guaranteed game time will be hard to resist, too.
