Mansfield Town face competition for star player Davis Keillor-Dunn from Millwall, Queens Park Rangers, Plymouth Argyle and Hull City as well as League One sides; Barnsley, Bolton Wanderers and Blackpool, according to Team Talk.
The 25-year-old midfielder is a wanted by a host of clubs from across the EFL pyramid, after impressing for The Stags in League Two so far this season. He has already bagged seven goals in ten appearances whilst also chipping in with two assists as he looks to continue his impressive goal-scoring form against Pete Wild’s Barrow today.
The Stags sit in fifth place having remained unbeaten in the league so far this season. Keillor-Dunn has played a huge part in the clubs start which has seemingly attracted several potential suitors. The 25-year-old only joined the club in January 2023, from League One side Burton Albion, where he made 26 appearances scoring six goals in the process. His longest spell at a single club however, came at Oldham Athletic where he made 105 appearances scoring 25 goals and contributing eleven assists. He has also been on the books of Ross County, Falkirk and Wrexham.
The player’s contract runs until 2025, so any move would likely cost a significant fee to secure his services with Nigel Clough’s side needing to replace such a key element of his side mid way through the season with the club’s aim to return to the third tier.
Writer’s View
It is not surprising to see that several sides are hoping to secure the services of Keillor-Dunn, his remarkable form has repaid the faith manager Nigel Clough has shown him so far since joining at the beginning of the year. The only real question remains, is who can afford him? At 25 years old he has his best years ahead of him, he also has time left on his contract and is a key player for The Stags. Therefore it is more likely in a Championship clubs’ budget rather than League One, however, I wouldn’t be surprised to see a side short on goals take a punt and over pay.
