Milton Keynes Dons have joined Notts County in the chase for Norwich City Academy star, Ken Aboh, signature.
Aboh is expected to be allowed to leave on loan after impressing in the Canaries’ U21 side last season.
Aboh has many EFL clubs interested in signing him
Notts County were first reported to be interested in signing Ken Aboh on loan this summer with PinkUn reporting of the Magpies’ interest on the 17th of August, although stating that the 19-year-old attacker had other suitors within the EFL.
A loan move for the Norwich City academy star appears to be on the cards too with Canaries manager, Johannes Hoff Thorup, admitting to PinkUn earlier in August:
“Definitely. We are talking about that, because what we need to make sure is that we have a team now where it’s players that are able to compete, and they can see they are within distance of that team, and there’s a chance that they can get into the starting XI. If not, then we have to find some options.
“There are maybe three to five players in that category. We have to see if it is better for them to go out on loan.”
MK Dons are set to rival Notts County in signing Aboh
Milton Keynes Dons, who are recently under new ownership, appear to be rivalling Notts County for Ken Aboh’s signature, according to PinkUn.
Norwich City are believed to be keen to let Abo depart on loan alongside a host of promising talent in the club’s academy, in an attempt to progress each player’s career with senior first-team football.
MK Dons have a previous record of nurturing top club’s young talent on loan, previously providing ex-Tottenham forward, Troy Parrott, with a home to thrive as well as Theo Corbeanu of Wolves and Jamie Cumming of Chelsea.Top of Form
Aboh shone for Norwich’s U21s last season
A loan to either Notts County or MK Dons would be Aboh’s first experience outside of Norwich having progressed through the club’s academy.
The 19-year-old centre-forward made his full breakthrough into Norwich’s PL2 side last season, netting an impressive eleven goals in fifteen games despite his side finishing towards the lower end of the PL2 table.
The Canaries’ academy has churned out some of the club’s most exciting talents in recent years of late, producing players such as Adam Idah, Abu Kamara and Jonathan Rowe, all of which have gone on to either pocket the club a hefty sum for leaving or made significant contributions on the field.
