Multiple Premier League Clubs Circling Norwich City Star

Wolverhampton Wanderers have reportedly joined the race for Norwich City talent Jonathan Rowe, as reported by TeamTalk.

The Canaries face a fight to hold on to the talented youngster as Wolves are joined by Premier League rivals Aston Villa and Crystal Palace. All three clubs are credited with an interest in Rowe, who has proven to be a future prospect up to this point while at Carrow Road.

Three appearances at the back end of last season saw Rowe force his way into Wagner’s side this season. He has been a key part of the side this season, scoring eight and providing two assists in 18 appearances. His form also saw him become part of England’s U21 side.

However, Norwich are yet to agree a deal with the 20-year-old, whose contract runs out in 2025. With terms yet to be negotiated, multiple top-flight clubs are circling to try to sign the young talent. One of those sides is Gary O’Neill’s Wolves, who are looking ahead to the January window. The side are said to be looking into a new striker in the window, with Rowe looking to be one of those options.

The 20-year-old’s contract may be up in 2025, but David Wagner’s side can opt to extend that by a year themselves. However, there is yet to be an announcement of a new deal with the Canaries. With Norwich at the wrong end of the Championship table and multiple clubs circling, it may be Rowe’s time to depart the club this winter, despite the club’s determination to keep hold of him.

Writer’s View

Rowe is an incredibly talented youngster who has forced his way into any team he possibly could up to now. With that talent, it makes sense that so many are keen on his signature. It may be wise for the Canaries to sell in January, with clubs knocking before he comes closer to the end of his contract. Losing the young talent for free could be a debilitating blow for Norwich.
