Newcastle United to Approach Manchester United and Arsenal Striker Target

Premier League Newcastle United are set to launch an attempt to secure the signing of RB Leipzig forward Benjamin Sesko in the event that Alexander Isak leaves to join Liverpool. Manchester United and Arsenal have recently been linked.

Newcastle have been fending off interest from the Premier League Champions for Isak this summer as Arne Slot continues his summer transfer spending spree. Hugo Ekitike linked up with his new side over the last few days joining the likes of Florian Wirtz, Milos Kerkez and Jeremie Frimpong amongst others in what is understood to be an over £200m spend so far.

Isak is looking increasingly likely to move to Anfield and has reportedly informed the Magpies that he would like the opportunity to pursue options elsewhere. However, Eddie Howe’s side have resisted advances so far.

Newcastle United Prepare for Isak Departure with Manchester United and Arsenal Target

One positive sign for Slot and co could be the emerging news that Newcastle United are preparing for the forwards departure with the pursuit of in-demand striker Benjamin Sesko, who has been attracting interest from Arsenal and Manchester United.

The Gunners were in talks over a move for the RB Leipzig man but ultimately opted to move for Viktor Gyokeres, who is set to complete a move imminently.

Meanwhile Manchester United have also held initial talks, but a move is considered out of their price range unless they can recoup a sizeable fee from outgoings. They have recently turned their attention to Ollie Watkins of Aston Villa .

This could give them a free run for Sesko, if they can take advantage of the reported drop in price from the German side according to David Ornstein.

Premier League Spending Madness as Newcastle United and Manchester United try to Keep Pace

The top sides in the Premier League have not been afraid to flex their financial muscles this summer. Clubs such as Manchester United and Newcastle United are struggling to keep pace, despite the size of the pair. Financial limitations, coupled with mismanagement on the Old Trafford front have left them competing for what is left that the big clubs don’t pick up.

Eddie Howe and Ruben Amorim both face the impossible task of having fan bases that expect a push towards the top of the table, whilst also having to contend with an increasingly closed shop between Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester City and Chelsea.
