Norwich City Agree Striker Deal With Relegation-Threatened Club

Boston United have extended the loan stay of Norwich City forward Ken Aboh until the end of the season as the Pilgrims look to build continuity during a challenging National League campaign.

The 21-year-old has been with Boston since November and has featured 15 times in all competitions, scoring once, with the club opting to keep him at the Jakemans Community Stadium through to the close of the 2025-26 season.

Aboh joined Boston United initially on a short-term agreement before a series of incremental extensions, with this latest deal confirming he will remain part of the squad for the run-in. The forward is on loan from Norwich City, where he turned professional after progressing through the club’s academy system.

Prior to his move into non-league football, Aboh gained senior experience in the EFL with loan spells at Stevenage and Colchester United last season. While opportunities were limited at both clubs, the move to Boston has provided more regular minutes and a chance to adapt to the physical demands of the National League.

The decision to extend Aboh’s stay comes at a key moment for Boston, who have recently made a managerial change in an effort to arrest their slide down the table. The club have turned to former Ipswich boss Paul Hurst in a bid to stabilise performances and steer the Pilgrims away from danger in the closing months of the campaign.

Boston’s relegation battle

Last season, Graham Coughlan handed the Pilgrims a story for the ages, a great escape of magnificent proportions after they looked doomed. This year, the belligerent boss seemingly fell out with those above, and when he left, he lashed out angrily on LinkedIn at the situation.

This campaign, Boston sits 18th in the National League with 30 points from 30 games, having won seven, drawn nine, and lost 14. Their recent form has been mixed, but the margin to the relegation places remains narrow, placing added importance on consistency and squad availability.

Keeping Aboh in the building offers continuity in attacking areas at a time when disruption has been unavoidable elsewhere. While his goal return has been modest, Boston will hope that an extended run under new management allows the forward to grow into the role and contribute more decisively as the season reaches its decisive phase.

For Boston, the extension represents a pragmatic piece of business, retaining a player already settled at the club and avoiding further upheaval, while for Aboh it provides the opportunity for sustained senior football as he continues his development away from Carrow Road.
