Premier League side Nottingham Forest are fielding interest from ambitious League One side Blackpool this summer transfer window as sides continue to improve their squads during pre-season.

Steve Bruce’s side have been busy in the market as the former top-flight boss looks to take advantage of the market ahead of his first full season in charge of the club.

They have already added the likes of Fraser Horsfall, George Honeyman, Jordan Brown, and Niall Ennis amongst others with their summer spending seemingly far from complete.

They have lost Rob Apter to Charlton Athletic recently and missed out on a host of targets including Leyton Orient signing Josh Koroma.

Blackpool move for Nottingham Forest Forward Dale Taylor

Now, according to a report from FLW, Blackpool could be set to move for Dale Taylor, who spent a period on loan with Wigan Athletic last season.

It is unknown at this time whether the club would be considering a loan move or a permanent switch, but with his age and contract length it would likely be a substantial fee to earn his services.

The 21-year-old joined the Latics on loan last summer and went on to make 47 appearances, scoring 11 times and assisting seven times before returning to his parent club. Despite a less than thrilling season for the club, Taylor picked up the Player of the Year award at their annual prize giving.

He has also spent previous spells at fellow League One clubs Wycombe Wanderers and Burton Albion and boasts 105 third tier appearances with 21 goals to his name.

What does this mean for Steve Bruce and Blackpool?

Despite the up and down campaign last season, Steve Bruce is experienced enough to know that his side have a good chance of challenging towards the top of the table this year.

The roster is more evenly matched than perhaps ever before with over half the clubs realistically in with a shout of pushing for promotion.

Unlike last season with Birmingham City clearly looking like favourites, it is hard to identify a a clear winner, with many pundits backing different clubs.

Blackpool are keen to make the most of the window and have not been shy to sign players quickly and early to get them in for pre-season training and it is clear that the hard work hasn’t stopped there.
