Nottingham Forest Winger Set To Secure Championship Return

Nottingham Forest winger Josh Bowler is close to securing another loan deal to the Championship this season as he is set to join Preston North End despite there being a lot of interest from elsewhere.

With less than half a day left in the summer window, the last few deals of the summer are close to being completed.

The clubs across the top four levels in England are set to announce their last pieces of business in this window as they look ahead to the rest of the season.

Preston have had their struggles both on and off the pitch to begin this season, but things are now looking much more positive for them.

They could have a solid attacking boost inbound soon, as a Premier League winger is set to make a swift return to the Championship.

Bowler Set For Preston

According to Darren Witcoop, Preston North End have agreed to a deal with Nottingham Forest for winger Josh Bowler to join the club on a season-long loan.

Bowler has spent most of his career at the Championship level and that is set to continue as he makes the move to Deepdale.

The 25-year-old spent last season on loan with Cardiff City, as he continued his development with the Bluebirds.

He made 39 appearances, finding the net five times as he had a solid spell in South Wales but certainly struggled to find consistency.

The season prior, he had two tough loan spells at both his old club Blackpool and Forest’s partner club Olympiacos where he struggled massively to get game time.

Blackpool was where he earned his move to Forest, as a season consisting of eight goals and three assists got him his move.

A Good Move For Bowler?

Bowler has proven already that he is a useful asset to have for any club at the Championship level.

He has struggled in recent seasons to match the levels he was showing during his first stint with the Seasiders, but he still has time to find that form.

If Preston’s new manager Paul Heckingbottom can get the best out of Bowler, it will be a great deal for North End as they look to finally kickstart their season.
