Notts County are set to confirm a major contract update regarding one of their star players ahead of Saturday’s League Two clash against Bromley.

Stuart Maynard’s side have enjoyed a strong start to the 2024/25 campaign, remaining unbeaten in league action thus far with three wins from their first five matches as they sit second in the table.

The Magpies are also averaging two goals per game within League Two so far and will be hopeful of maintaining both their goal-scoring record and their unbeaten league start when they travel to Hayes Lane this weekend to face Andy Woodman’s Bromley.

However, ahead of this weekend’s match the club are expected to confirm a major piece of contract news regarding one of their star players.

Jones signs new deal

As reported by journalist Pete O’Rourke, Notts County star Jodi Jones has signed a new contract with the League Two side after the club successfully retained the winger following the closure of the summer transfer window.

Jones has been a star asset to Notts County since he first arrived on loan from Oxford United during their final National League campaign before he broke the League Two assist record last season.

No length on the new deal has currently been reported but news of Jones’ retainment will come as a welcomed boost ahead of Saturday’s League Two clash.

How has he fared so far this season?

The Maltese international has featured six times for Notts County during the 2024/25 campaign so far and has picked up where he left off despite the summer exit of striker Macaulay Langstaff.

Jones has scored twice and provided two additional assists for the Magpies in all competitions, with the 26-year-old continuing to shine alongside the likes of Dan Crowley.

With a new contract secured, there is likely to be increased morale within the dressing room which could play out on the pitch and see the club maintain their strong start to the season.
