A number of League One and Two clubs are tracking Chester defender Harrison Burke after the club rejected several offers for the young centre-back in January.
Burke has been a key figure at the heart of their defence all season and has played a big part in the Blues currently sitting top of the National League North division.
Having contributed nine goals so far this season, the centre-back is a threat in both boxes and manager Calum McIntyre recently issued a ‘hands-off’ warning to prying clubs following his form.
It was no surprise to see the 22-year-old pick up the league’s player of the month for November 2024.
Developing at Chester
After graduating through the academy at Chester, Burke has captained the club at both Youth & First Team level, he has made over 120 appearances for the club so far and remains a key component in the side as they aim to win the title this season.
Chester’s New Year’s Day draw with Southport saw Burke, move up to eighth in the all-time appearances list for the club, a huge achievement for the youngster.
As reported on X by transfer correspondent Pete O’Rourke, the club have already rejected several offers for his services in January.
With 18 months remaining on his deal at the Deva Stadium, the club are calm over the situation despite losing top goalscorer Charlie Caton to League Two’s Accrington Stanley in January.
National League North
With Chester currently holding onto top spot in the division, Scunthorpe, Brackley & Chorley are all in close proximity of the summit as they have games in hand of McIntyre’s side.
With only 10 points separating half the division, there is still plenty of points to play for with a possible play-off spot not out of the question.
The bottom of the league is just as tight with eight points separating the bottom seven teams with four clubs set to face the drop.
