Preston North End Target Hands In Transfer Request

Preston North End’s transfer target Conrad Wallem has reportedly requested to leave Slavia Prague in search of a prospective move to Lancashire.

After a reasonably solid start to the transfer window this summer, Preston have already improved their squad that managed a tenth-placed finish in the Championship last season.

The early additions of Sam Greenwood and Stefan Teitur Thordarson were joined yesterday by the addition of Kaine Kesler-Hayden, joining the Lilywhites on loan from Aston Villa.

Although the signings they have made are good, they still are likely to need more reinforcements if they want to be in the playoff picture this season.

With a transfer target now handing in a transfer request, it may not be long until we see another player through the doors at Deepdale.

Wallem Wants Preston Move

According to Lancashire Post, Slavia Prague wide-man Conrad Wallem has handed in a transfer request in pursuit of a move to Championship side Preston North End.

Wallem was left out of the Czech side’s squad for their UEFA Champions League qualifying game against Union St Gilloise after reports started surfacing that the player is unhappy.

The Norweigan made 38 appearances for Slavia last season, scoring seven times and assisting six in what was a fantastic season for the 24-year-old.

However, he is now searching for a new challenge, and it seems that Preston could be the next step for Wallem to advance his career.

It is understood that North End have already agreed personal terms with the player, but Slavia’s valuation of the winger has proven to be the big stumbling block in negotiations.

However, with the player now handing in a transfer request, his club may be forced into selling the player for less than they would want, with his unhappiness now being public knowledge.

Wallem signed for Slavia Prague from Old in Norway last season, and he still has three years remaining on his contract in the Czech capital.

After the departure of Liam Millar due to his loan obligations at North End, Preston needed a winger capable of replacing the Canadian.

With Wallem and Greenwood, they would have a great set of wingers and would certainly be an improvement on their squad from last season.

If they are able to agree to a reasonable fee for Wallem, it will be a huge coup for Ryan Lowe’s squad and he looks to mount a potential playoff push this season.
