QPR Set To Win Race For Exciting Winger

QPR have fended off interest from across the EFL and abroad to secure the signing of talented winger Karamoko Dembele, according to reports.

QPR fans are ready to see their team play again, as they are less than 24 hours away from their opening game of the Championship season.

After a promising end to a poor season under new management, R’s fans are hopeful that they can now push up the table and be true contenders in the top half.

They have made some solid additions to their squad, but are looking for improvements in a few key areas.

Rangers have seemingly found their new winger, and it is certainly a signing that will excite the supporters even more.

Dembele to the R’s?

According to Fabrizio Romano, Karamoko Dembele is set to sign for QPR in a £3 million deal from Brest in what is a fantastic coup for the R’s.

Rangers managed to fight off interest from clubs in the Championship and League One to secure the signature of the talented 21-year-old.

Who is Karamoko Dembele?

Dembele is a player who a lot of football fans are familiar with. Playing for Celtic’s under-20 side at just 13 years of age and then making his professional debut at just 16, he made headlines across the world with his potential.

It did not quite pan out the way Dembele would have liked at Celtic, with the player struggling with both injuries and the pressure placed on his young shoulders.

He joined French side Brest in 2022 but he did not have his true ‘breakout’ season until his loan spell with Blackpool last season.

He played 46 times for Blackpool in League One last season, scoring nine times and assisting fourteen in what was a truly magnificent season for the winger.

Despite having a lot of senior experience already, Dembele is still only 21 due to his professional career starting so early.

Is this a good signing?

QPR have done very well to land this signing. One of the most technically gifted wingers in the EFL last season and he had serious interest from multiple clubs at a similar, if not better level than the R’s but he has still chosen to move to West London.

If Dembele can recreate even close to the season he had last campaign, he will be one of the best signings in the league. A truly exciting talent with plenty of room to grow and with a small fee too, it is truly great business from the R’s.
