The winter transfer window is just around the corner and Reading star Tyler Bindon is reportedly attracting interest from the Championship after starting all 15 of the Royals’ League One matches.
The 19-year-old has made 61 appearances for Reading since leaving LAFC Academy in August 2023 and has been instrumental in the team’s impressive start that sees them sit in eight in League One.
New Zealand International Continues to Elevate His Game
Bindon made his international debut just two months after signing for League One side Reading and after initially playing at both right-back and in the centre of defence for the Royals, he has now established himself as one of the most talented central defenders in the division.
The New Zealand star is an imposing figure in the air, winning 3.3 aerial duels per game in League One with a success rate of over 70%.
The defender is comfortable in possession and playing out from the back, an essential attribute for sides in the Championship and Premier League.
He also tops the charts at Reading for clearances and shots blocked per game and his impressive displays have now reportedly caught the eye of a Championship suitor.
Blackburn Rovers Keen on Reading Star
Championship side Blackburn Rovers had started the season in relatively impressive form, remaining unbeaten after the first seven matches.
However, they have now lost five of the previous eight, ending a three-game losing streak by beating Cardiff City before the international break.
They sit ninth in the Championship table but have a game in hand on the teams above them after their match with Portsmouth was postponed this weekend.
They are now being credited with an interest in Reading defender Bindon, according to Alan Nixon.
The Reading player’s contract is set to expire next summer and the Royals may need to cash in when the transfer window opens according to the report.
Hayden Carter is injured and experienced defender Danny Batth has slotted into the heart of the Blackburn defence but it would appear John Eustace is looking to refresh his options with Bindon likely able to slot straight into the starting line-up at Ewood Park.
