Former Championship midfielder Dylan Kadji has emerged on the radar of League One side Rotherham United ahead of the summer transfer window.
The 21-year-old is currently applying his trade for National League South outfit Weston Super-Mare but finds himself out of contract at the end of the current campaign.
His impressive performances since leaving the second tier have allowed him to sweep back onto the radar of clubs in the EFL and he could be set to return once again ready for next season.
Kadji to Rotherham?
As reported in an exclusive reveal by Football League World, Rotherham United are one of the clubs that have their eyes on the 21-year-old ahead of the summer transfer window.
The Millers will be in League One next season after failing to compete for the play-off places following their relegation last season.
Kadji is out of contract this summer and appears set to leave the National League South side, especially after a recent slip has saw their play-off push all but over. The side need to win this weekend, hope Maidstone United lose as well as there being a 16-goal swing.
It could be Kadji’s first stint back in the EFL following his exit from Championship play-off chasers Bristol City.
How has he fared this season?
After making four first-team appearances at Bristol City and spending time last season with Forest Green Rovers and Aldershot Town, Kadji headed for the sixth tier in the summer.
He has been ever-present for Weston Super Mare this season, featuring in 42 of their 45 league matches and contributing to six goals in the process.
His most-recent goal came during a 1-0 victory against Chelmsford City last month.
The Millers aren’t alone
With Kadji being a free agent this summer, Rotherham United are one of the clubs keen but they will face competition from at least one other side according to the report.
The side in question is relegated-League One side Shrewsbury Town who have recently brought in Leamington’s Callum Stewart and Telford’s Ricardo Dinanga as they continue to dive into the Non-League scene for talent.
Shrewsbury would be able to offer him a better access to minutes in comparison to Rotherham due to the league difference between the two clubs next season.
