Salford City are gearing up to launch a £500,000 offer to sign Fleetwood Town striker Ryan Graydon, according to a new report.
The Ammies have had a strong start to the season as they look to finally put themselves into League One, and are only out of the automatic promotion places by goal difference ahead of their back-to-back league and cup clashes with Swindon Town.
Graydon Move Touted
Karl Robinson looks set to enter the January market with a bang, according to a new report from Alan Nixon and his Patreon channel, who states that City will launch a £500,000 bid to sign Ryan Graydon.
The Fleetwood Town striker is leading the scoring charts for his side, scoring eight times so far in League Two, as well as providing three additional assists. That total is well clear of the next best performing player at Highbury in Ched Evans.
With Graydon out of contract in the summer, Nixon believes that Pete Wild’s side will cash in on the 26-year-old forward, who arrived in 2023 from League of Ireland side Derry City.
The Cod Army’s number seven reached his 100th club appearance on New Year’s Day in the loss against Grimsby Town, and across his whole stint at the club he has found the net 25 times with an additional 11 assists.
This would mark Salford’s first big-money signing since announcing new investment from American company AIG, who became the club’s largest shareholder in December.
Salford Want Striker Upgrade
A move for Ryan Graydon hints at a change up front for Salford City amid some tough performances for Cole Stockton as of late. With summer signing Daniel Udoh performing brilliantly since arriving from Wycombe Wanderers, adding some greater depth alongside him will certainly boost Salford’s chances.
Stockton has had a hard time this season, with just a single League Two goal to his name across 15 appearances so far. Alongside Udoh and Nicolas Siri, adding Graydon will hand Karl Robinson a lot of options to choose from up front for the remainder of the season
With Jay Bird likely out for the season and youngster Kyrell Malcolm still on the fringes, adding one final piece of the puzzle for this campaign in a proven goalscorer at this level will surely give the Ammies the kick they need to finally make the step up to League One.
