Sheffield United have agreed a loan deal with a League One club for their exciting young international forward, Ryan One.
The young Scotsman has previously announced himself to Blades fans, scoring a late equaliser against Bristol City last season, which ignited a late comeback for Wilder’s men, who went on to win the match 2-1.
Having only featured for 127 minutes in the Championship this season, the striker will depart on loan to the division below to seek regular gametime.
Ryan One Set For League One Move
Before moving to Sheffield United, the youngster had emerged through the ranks at Hamilton Academical, making 36 appearances for the club during the 2022-23 campaign.
He has since made 22 appearances for the Blades since joining the club in October 2023, but will now have the chance for consistent minutes for the remainder of the season.
As reported by Fabrizio Romano via X, an agreement is in place between the South Yorkshire club and Lincoln City for the loan transfer of Ryan One, the deal lasting until the end of the 2025-26 season.
The Scottish youth international is an exciting addition for any third-tier club. Having made the switch to Bramall Lane for a six-figure fee as a 17-year-old amid heavy competition, he has since gone on to represent his nation at various youth ranks.
Lincoln City Set to Secure Deal
One will be bolstering the striking options at Lincoln City, and will be the Imps’ fourth signing of the winter window.
Recently losing Justin Obikwu after the loan striker completed a permanent transfer to QPR, the Lincolnshire outfit have since brought in Alfie Lloyd and now the Blades youngster as replacements.
Currently sitting second in League One to the surprise of many, Sincil Bank could be a perfect environment for the youngster’s development.
Posing some of the division’s brightest, most hard-working forwards such as Reeco Hackett, Robert Street, and Freddie Draper with a backline marshalled by the experienced Sonny Bradley, there is an excellent depth of solidarity under Michael Skubala.
Additionally, the Imps have a good track record with loan players, most notably Morgan Rogers and Brennan Johnson in the 2020-21 season. Regarded as one of the EFL’s most progressive clubs, One’s move appears to be excellent for all involved parties.
