Solihull Moors have secured the signing of a Swindon Town trialist, as their summer recruitment continues under manager Andy Whing.

Andy Whing’s side narrowly missed out on promotion last season via penalties against Bromley but have wasted no time in beginning their recruitment ahead of the 2024/25 campaign.

The club have now secured their latest summer acquisition, dealing a further blow to Swindon Town after they lost out on defender Jai Rowe.

Bostock to the Armco

As confirmed via a statement on the club’s website, Solihull Moors have wrapped up the signing of former Notts County midfielder John Bostock on a two-year contract.

Bostock was on trial with Swindon Town in recent days but has penned a permanent contract with Andy Whing’s Solihull Moors ahead of the upcoming National League campaign.

The midfielder joins Solihull Moors accompanying the likes of Sam Bowen, Joss Labadie and Jamey Osborne heading into the new campaign.

How did he fare last season?

Bostock has spent the previous 18 months with Notts County, helping them to secure promotion back to the National League as well as retaining their fourth-tier status.

During the previous season, Bostock made 41 appearances in all competitions, contributing to three goals in total with each of those arriving in League Two alone.

He also captained the side on several occasions last season, adding further experience to the National League side, becoming their seventh signing of the summer so far.

Swindon miss out again

Earlier this week, Swindon Town missed out on the signing of full-back Jai Rowe as he confirmed his return to National League side Boston United and now Bostock becomes the second trialist to go elsewhere.

The League Two side have had an active transfer window since the conclusion of the 2023/24 campaign but won’t be signing the midfielder this summer.
