Solihull Moors Forward Tipped For Exit

Solihull

Solihull Moors striker Mark Beck is the subject of interest from fellow National League side Hartlepool United as Darren Sarll’s side continues to prepare themselves for the 2024/25 campaign.

The 30-year-old joined Solihull Moors from Darlington in January 2023 but despite scoring at Wembley for the Moors, he has been transfer-listed and is expected to leave the club this summer.

Beck would be the second player to leave Solihull Moors this summer after Callum Maycock turned down a new contract to join AFC Wimbledon in League Two.

However, it now appears as though the forward is likely to leave Andy Whing’s side before the new season gets underway.

How did Beck fare last season for Solihull?

The forward made 37 league appearances last season as well as featuring in the FA Cup, FA Trophy and the National League play-offs.

During that time, Beck scored eight league goals, which included three goals in his first four starts of the season for Andy Whing’s side.

Is a deal likely for Beck?

According to journalist Rob Law, Hartlepool United are keen to sign the experienced forward this summer but aren’t alone in their pursuit although no other side has been directly named in the initial tweet.

Beck has one year remaining on his contract at the Armco Arena but has been transfer listed by Solihull Moors.

However, despite Law claiming that Beck is keen on a move to Hartlepool, no deal has currently been agreed and his current contract status is causing an issue for Pools due to the requirement of paying a fee to land him.

A blow for the Moors?

If Mark Beck was to leave Solihull Moors this summer, the club would be left with just two centre-forwards in the form of Tahvon Campbell and Connor Hall.

Hall has also been transfer listed by Solihull Moors, suggesting that Campbell is the only option at Andy Whing’s disposal at this moment in time.

The fee is unclear, but any money is likely to be reinvested back into the squad, which would allow for Andy Whing’s side to source a replacement for the eight-goal forward before the new season gets underway.
