Tottenham Hotspur have endured a difficult 2024/25 season, with pressure mounting on boss Ange Postecoglou. However, the club have now been linked to a Manchester United forward in the summer transfer window.
Postecoglou may be on his way out, with a shock return for Mauricio Pochettino touted as a realistic possibility. But the club do need to look at their playing staff too with many of their stars struggling to make an impact this campaign.
Spurs Could Move for Marcus Rashford
It has become clear that a return to Old Trafford is impossible whilst manager Ruben Amorim is at the helm. The England international is currently on loan at Aston Villa and has begun to show signs of his former glory. However, there are many sides who are looking to potentially convince him to join them in the summer.
It has been reported that Spain, with Real Madrid or Barcelona is Rashford’s preferred option, but the decision to stay in the Premier League has already proved fruitful for the forward. If the Villans are not able to turn the deal permanent in the summer, then he may be tempted by another opportunity in England. Tottenham Hotspur, according to transfersdotcom may be willing to offer that chance.
The Champions League Issue
There will be some question marks however, with Spurs looking likely to miss out on the Champions League, unless they are able to win the Europa League with Manchester United also pursuing that goal. With Aston Villa able to offer European football and the likelihood of other clubs coming in for him in a similar situation with Borussia Dortmund and AC Milan previously showing interest it may not be his preferred choice.
Having recently regained a spot in the England National Team under Thomas Tuchel, he will be wanting to keep the momentum high to increase his chances of making the next international tournament.
