Stevenage are expected to complete the signing of MK Dons goalkeeper Craig McGillivray in the coming days, according to journalist Alan Nixon.
The 30-year-old has been a major part of Mike Williamson’s side so far this season but is now set for a move up to League One but has turned down another side to make the move.
McGillivray has made 25 appearances for the League Two side in all competitions so far this season, keeping six clean sheets in total with each of them arriving in league competition.
The shot-stopper began his career in the Non-League scene before going on to play for the likes of Walsall, Portsmouth and Charlton Athletic but has been at MK Dons since the summer transfer window.
The goalkeeper has turned down a move to League One rivals Carlisle United in favour of a move to Steve Evans’ side with MK Dons expected to land another shot-stopper as a replacement this month.
Steve Evans’ side clinched promotion to League One last season and have since continued their fine form to push towards back-to-back promotions this season. The club currently sit seventh in the table, with goal difference keeping them outside of the top six. However, they did suffer a shock FA Cup defeat against National League South side Maidstone United at the weekend.
McGillivray has made almost 200 first-team appearances in League One and will add plenty of experience as well as strong competition between the sticks moving into the second half of the campaign.

The shot-stopper was a very popular figure with Portsmouth during his time with the club and will be an excellent addition to Steve Evans’ side.
However, he will be keen to add more clean sheets to his tally for the season and will be targeting a playoff spot for Stevenage this season.
