League One promotion chasers Stockport County have made an opening offer for St Johnstone striker Adama Sidibeh, according to Alan Nixon’s Patreon.
The Hatters, who currently sit 4th in League One, will face competition from fellow League One sides Stevenage and Northampton Town, who are also targeting the Gambian forward.
After weeks of interest from those two sides, Stockport have jumped in front of them after reportedly making a first bid, which was rejected, and they are expected to follow up with an improved offer.

In Form

So far this season, Adama Sidibeh has featured in nineteen matches for St Johnstone in the Scottish Championship and has scored six goals and provided four assists, helping his side sit at the top of the table as they look for an immediate return to the Scottish Premiership.
Sidibeh came through the English nonleague system, where he earned a move from Warrington Rylands to the then Scottish Premiership side after scoring 16 goals in 30 games, after he was noticed for “his pace, power and scoring ability, which caught the eye of numerous clubs.
In his first six months in Scotland, he registered 5 goals in 15 matches in the Scottish Premiership as his side narrowly avoided the relegation play-offs. The following season, the 27-year-old striker only managed 3 league goals in 31 appearances as St Johnstone were relegated to the second tier.
With the Gambian striker’s contract up at the end of the season, and with his the Scottish Championship league leaders may be forced to sell now or lose him on a free transfer at the end of the season.

Why Stockport May Suit Best

A move to Stockport County may suit Adama Sidibeh the most due to his North-West non-league roots with Warrington Rylands and Cheadle Heath Nomads.
As well as this, the departure of on-loan striker Nathan Lowe from the Hatters last week may present an opportunity for the Gambian forward to help Stockport and their leading goalscorer Kyle Wootton in their push for promotion to the Championship after they missed out in the play-offs last season.

Is Stevenage A Better Prospect?

Another move that may suit Sidibeh is the side just two points outside the League One play-off spots, in Alex Revell’s Stevenage.
With the pending departure of Jake Young, Boro may be looking to reinforce their attacking options, especially considering the fact that Stevenage are currently the lowest scorers in the top half of League One with 27 goals across 23 matches.
