Swindon Town manager Ian Holloway has offered a robust response amid interest in Finley Munroe and Aaron Drinan.
The Robins have had a very successful season under Ian Holloway so far, and are in with a good chance of promotion to League One at the halfway point of the season. But those hopes may be derailed by interest in some of their best talents.
Holloway Smashes Transfer Talk
Munroe is of particular interest to clubs higher in the pyramid, with a report earlier this week from Peter O’Rourke stating that both League One’s Leyton Orient and Championship side Preston North End are chasing the 20-year-old.
Speaking to the Swindon Advertiser about the possibility of losing players this January, Ian Holloway rebuffed the reports surrounding both leading scorer Drinan and Munroe, who is on loan from Premier League side Aston Villa.
“[Have you received any bids for any of your players yet?] No, but if I do, they can all just go and do one.
“Nobody is for sale. Are they mad? We’re trying to get promoted.
“[on Munroe] You’d have to get a coach full of horses to drag him away from us. I think he’s loving every minute of it. He’s a little superstar in his own world.
“I don’t know [if he will be recalled] is the answer, but we’ve got all sorts of things lined up just in case. I’d love to continue with all I’ve got right.”
Robins Objectives Clear
With Ian Holloway holding firm on interest in both Drinan, whose contract at the County Ground expires next season, and Munroe, he is sending a clear message that promotion is the aim for this season.
They can certainly do it, with Drinan’s goalscoring showing no signs of slowing down and Ollie Palmer serving as a solid strike partner in a side that is fourth on the League Two scoring charts.

Holloway has proved his detractors wrong from his appointment midway through last season, but now faces his biggest tests of the season with two matches against promotion rivals Salford City and Bromley in the league on top of a trip this weekend to face the Ammies in the FA Cup.
Should the Robins navigate the rest of January with a strong record, they will be firm favourites to secure a place in the top three at least come the end of the season.
