Formula Two (F2) is back for more chaos and drama that only the premier support series knows how to produce.

Last season, Gabriel Bortoleto was crowned champion and has become one of six new rookies on the F1 grid.

There are 14 rounds on the calendar this season, which stars in Melbourne on the 14th March.

The season ends, as is tradition, at Abu Dhabi on the 7th December where someone will be crowned champion.

So who is best placed on the grid this year to make the jump into F1 for 2026.

We look at three F2 drivers confirmed for the season ahead, who could make the leap up to F1.

Arvid Lindblad

This British-Swede driver makes the move up to F2 after just one season in Formula Three.

The 17-year-old scored four wins last time out, finishing fourth in the standings.

Lindblad is a member of the Red Bull Junior Programme, signing with the team in 2021 whilst still in karting.

Lindblad should realistically have two seasons at this level to allow him to develop, but should Red Bull to continue to chop and change their line-up, don’t be surprised to see Lindblad in F1 soon.

Leonardo Fornaroli

The reigning F3 champion makes the step up to the final step on the feeder series ladder for 2025.

Fornaroli’s consistency is what won him the 2024 F3 title, not winning a single race all season long.

The 20-year-old completed the final race, finishing a respectful 13th place in the feature race.

If the Italian can carry that consistency into F2, he’ll be one to watch in 2025.

Gabriele Mini

Mini finished second in F3 in 2024, but it wasn’t his season that raised eyebrows in the F1 paddock.

The Italian’s stand-in for Oliver Bearman in Baku really got people talking.

In his first race, Mini scored a podium in the sprint race, before crashing out of the points in the dying moments of the feature race.

Mini “shone” in that weekend, and given a full season of practice, Mini shouldn’t be ruled out as a championship contender in 2025.
