Tottenham Hotspur Plot Postecoglou Sacking With Replacement Identified

Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly considering sacking manager Ange Postecoglou, with three potential replacements identified including Premier League bosses.

Spurs have suffered a disappointing season this year with pressure continuing to mount against the former Celtic boss. They sit 14th in the Premier League table, with 15 defeats from just 29 games. They have also now gone three games without a victory, drawing once and losing twice.

The Australian’s only hope, according to The Athletic is to secure a Champions League spot, which would only realistically be possible by winning the Europa League. If they fail, then it is likely that they will part company in the summer.

Who Could Possibly Replace Ange Postecoglou at Tottenham?

The Tottenham job is a difficult one for any manager, there is a huge amount of pressure to continue competing towards the top of the table, whilst also having to contend with their extended trophyless run and failure to get over the line. There have been social media rumblings that current United States boss and former manager Mauricio Pochettino could be a solid option but at present there is nothing more concrete.

However, according to The Athletic, Spurs have already sounded out three potential new managers should they sack Postecoglou. Andoni Iraolam current manager of AFC Bournemouth tops the list alongside Fulham boss Marco Silva and Brenford man Thomas Frank. All three are exceptional managers who have demonstrated their ability to punch above their weight in a competitive Premier League roster.

Will Tottenham Hotspur Sack Ange?

The feeling around the club has been that the potential sacking is more a case of when, not if it happens. The former Celtic man has been given a rough hand in terms of injuries, which the club have afforded him time for, but it does feel as though he should be performing better in his role. A summer decision does give him some time to turn it around, they are amongst the favourites for the Europa League alongside Premier League rivals Manchester United and it isn’t beyond the realms of possibility that they could win it. However, it does appear as though we are watching the club on a collision course with a parting of the ways.
