Nigerian striker Emmanuel Dennis is set to sign for former club Watford on loan until the end of the season, as reported by The Athletic.
The 26-year-old returned to his parent club, Nottingham Forest, following an unsuccessful short-term loan at Turkish Club Istanbul Basaksehir.
This will be a return to old pastures for Dennis as he signed for Watford in June 2021 as The Hornets were promoted to the Premier League. Despite Watford being relegated back to the Championship, Dennis had a positive season in a struggling team, scoring ten times in 37 games.
In the summer transfer window of 2022, Dennis was signed by Nottingham Forest after his promising performances throughout the season for a reported £20 million fee. This was one of 21 summer signings Nottingham Forest made as they gained promotion to the Premier League. This found certain players, including Dennis, not getting the game time they wanted, resulting in Dennis only scoring twice for Forest.
Watford currently sat ninth in the Championship table, three points out of the playoff places. Hornets fans will be hoping that the quality of Dennis will aid them in climbing up the table in a bid to gain a return to the top flight of English Football.
Emmanuel Dennis is Watford’s only signing so far this January window. Watford fans and their manager, Valerian Ismael, will be eager to see Dennis in action after his proven ability to score in the division above.

I believe that Emmanuel Dennis would be an excellent signing for Watford as they look to gain promotion to the Premier League. Dennis proved his ability to score and provide goals at the highest level during his first spell at Watford. If he can regain anything close to his previous form, he will undoubtedly become one of the top players in the whole league.
