Barrow midfielder Dean Campbell has fired a stern warning to League Two rivals Notts County ahead of tonight’s clash at Holker Street
The Bluebirds have won just one of their last seven matches in all competitions and are attempting to reclaim their form, but face the difficult challenge of attempting to beat Stuart Maynard’s Notts County.
Currently, Barrow finds themselves seventh in League Two despite their disappointing run of form and will be desperate to retain their spot in the top seven of the division.
Barrow are ready for the game
The last meeting between the two sides took place in January as they played out a 1-1 draw at Meadow Lane. Kian Spence originally gave Barrow the lead before Aaron Nemane equalised just before half time.
Barrow have scored just two goals in their last seven outings in all competitions and experienced shock defeats against league strugglers Morecambe and Accrington Stanley.
Speaking to the club’s official YouTube channel (quotes via NWE Mail), Campbell stated…
“I think the last couple of weeks have been different, whereas we’ve had most of the ball in the games and it’s been down to us to go and create chances.
“Before that it was quite end-to-end in the games we were part of, and quite high tempo games that we were playing.
“I look forward to playing another team tonight that will give us a real test.
“We know that we’ve been successful against these sides at the start of the season, so we will bring that confidence into the game, and go toe to toe with them.
“We will all be ready for it. We know it will be a tough challenge, but we also know we are good enough to go and win the game.”
Can Barrow realistically beat Notts County?
In the four previous League outings between the two sides, there has been a noticeable share in results, with each side sustaining one victory whilst the other two matches ended in a 1-1 draw.
Back in November 2019, it was Barrow who picked up a huge 3-0 victory at Meadow Lane before the reverse fixture saw Notts County win 2-0.
However, in the two EFL meetings both games have ended in a 1-1 draw with Dean Campbell himself scoring and picking up the Player of the Match award in the October 2023 clash.
This time around, both teams find themselves in different form. Barrow have just one win in seven games whilst Notts County have lost just twice in the league all season and are unbeaten in their previous two matches.
Therefore, Campbell’s side will need to be back to their best if they want to try and compete against Notts County on Tuesday evening.
