West Ham vs Chelsea Premier League Preview

Liverpool vs Everton

West Ham vs Chelsea preview as both sides come into the game disappointed with their gameweek one result.

West Ham fell to a shocking 3-0 defeat against newly promoted Sunderland, who were officially the lowest-ranked team in the league, having finished fourth in the Championship last season and requiring the playoffs to be promoted.

West Ham created chances in the first half and had a Malick Diouf shot that was cleared off the line. With the game still at 0-0 well into the second half, West Ham quickly conceded twice from deep crosses into the box and strong headers from Mayenda and Ballard, beating newly signed Hermansen. They conceded a third in added time on the counterattack.

Chelsea, however, may feel slightly relieved that they picked up a point as an Eberchi Eze free kick was controversially disallowed for encroachment of the wall within a metre by Marc Guehi.

The young Brazilian new signings, Estevao and Andrey Santos, impressed in the second half when producing chances but failed to turn them into goals. This came in stark contrast to the Club World Cup Final, where the Blues dominated Champions League-winning PSG, with Cole Palmer scoring twice and assisting Joao Pedro for the other.
