With the club in danger of relegation in the National League, Woking have decided to strengthen their attack by signing Hashtag United winger Joshua Osude after his fantastic season in the Isthmian Premier Division.
Woking currently sit 18th in the National League but are just two places above the relegation places in the latter stages of this season.
Only Ebsfleet United have scored fewer goals than the Cardinals this season, and their defeat to Aldershot last week confirmed their relegation on just 18 points for the season.
Bearing this in mind, Woking have decided to strengthen their attack in the latter stages of the season, adding a talented young winger to their ranks from a YouTube sensation side.
Woking Sign Osude
As announced on their official club channels, Woking have completed the signing of Hashtag United star Joshua Osude on a permanent deal.
The 25-year-old, known for his electrifying speed, joins in probably the best form of his career, as he backed up a season with 30 goals in 38 games at Witham Town with a fantastic few months back in a Hashtag shirt.
Osude also has a great pedigree, spending time in the Leyton Orient and AFC Bournemouth academies in the very early stages of his career. This could be a much-needed attacking addition for manager Neal Ardley.
Can He Make The Step-Up?
This move represents a first for Osude, as it is the first time he will be playing football full-time in his non-league journey.
The difference between not only the Isthmian Premier and the National League, but playing football part-time and full-time is arguably one of the biggest changes a footballer can go through in their career.
Osude will also be thrown straight into the deep end of a relegation battle, with not a lot of time for him to make a difference to the Cardinals’ season.
However, as his speed is very uncommon in football as well as his technical ability getting better as every season passes, it could be the perfect time for him to make the jump to the National League.
A Huge Loss For Hashtag?
As seen through their increasingly popular YouTube videos, Hashtag United saw a huge uprising in form after Osude returned to the club in November 2024.
Osude came through their ‘Hashtag United Academy’ series back in 2019, and throughout his three separate spells with the club, his speed and clinical ability have been so crucial to the club’s success in the lower divisions of the non-league pyramid.
The Tags will now face a huge challenge as they search for one of the last playoff spaces in their division to fight for a place in the National League South next season.
Despite this, if Osude could bring the form he has been in to Woking, he could be vital in keeping them in the National League this season.
