The 22-year-old enjoyed a positive loan spell in the Championship with Blackburn Rovers last season, and it is looking likely that Beck will be continuing his development away from Merseyside next season.

Wrexham, Derby, and Rangers in the race for Owen Beck
Beck made 24 Championship appearances for Blackburn Rovers last season, scoring on one occasion in a 2-0 win over Luton Town.
When fit, the young defender was a regular feature in Rovers’ starting lineup; however, a hefty injury in the latter half of the season saw the player’s season cut short, last playing a full 90 minutes in early February.
Yet to play a full season as a first-team starter, Derby, Wrexham, and Rangers seem prepared to offer regular game-time to the full-back.Â
While the Red Dragon’s defensive record last season was excellent, the club’s three consecutive promotions have regularly been followed up with large squad turnover over the previous transfer windows.
Having recently announced the departures of Will Boyle and Paul Mullin while acquiring a proven Championship striker in Ryan Hardie, Wrexham look to be set to upgrade their squad even further to take to life in the second tier.
While Wrexham’s defensive record under Phil Parkinson in League One was excellent last season, the club will be aspiring to be competitive in the division, in which the signing of Owen Beck would provide a proven Championship defender with the potential to improve throughout the season.
However, the club could face European competition, with Rangers also reported to be in negotiations for the defender’s services.
A reunion with a former manager?
However, the defender could be tempted by a reunion with his former manager John Eustace.
Eustace brought Beck to Ewood Park last season, where he was a regular feature in the Rover’s defence before the manager departed for Derby County in February.
Having secured their Championship status under the former Birmingham City coach last season, Derby will be looking to improve further and establish themselves higher up the division.
Therefore, a move to Pride Park could be beneficial for both the player and the club. The club would be acquiring an excellent prospect who is proven under their current coach; additionally, the player would be able to continue his development under a coach who understands his best qualities.
It will be interesting to see where Beck will play football next season, with all paths offering different but positive platforms for the defender to continue his development.
