Clubs across the Football League and in Scotland are interested in signing Sheffield Wednesday striker, Bailey Cadamarteri.
Cadamarteri broke into the first team last season with Sheffield Wednesday struggling in the Championship. The young striker took his chance in the team, earning himself a new long-term deal along the way.
His goals for the club helped them stay in the Championship, as they secured safety on the last day of the season.
Now, the talented England youth international will be given a chance to get more first-team action out on loan this season.
What do we know about the interest in Cadamarteri?
The Star shared news that Danny Rohl is looking to loan Cadamarteri out this season to continue his development as a player.
News that the 19-year-old could be available on loan this season has caught the attention of several League One and Scottish Premiership clubs.
Wrexham, Huddersfield Town, Stockport County, Blackpool, Motherwell, and Dundee United are all teams interested in ‘Cadz’.
How did Cadamarteri perform last season?
Cadamarteri played 23 games last season for Sheffield Wednesday. 14 of those from that start and nine as a substitute. In those games, he scored four goals for the Owls and quickly became a fan favourite thanks to his effort levels each game.
WhoScored gave Cadamarteri an average rating of 6.31 in his first season in senior football. Although a relatively low ranking, he still ranked 23rd in the Owls squad for the 2023/24 season.
Despite only being part of the squad for half of the season, his four goals put him joint fourth in Wednesday’s top scorer list in the Championship.
Is a loan move good for Cadamarteri? – opinion
There were calls for Cadamarteri to be part of the set-up before Rohl took charge with the team struggling to score. Former manager Xisco decided against giving him a chance.
However, Cadamarteri showed lots of promise last season when called upon by Rohl. His desire was clear for all to see, and he showed he’s a goalscorer with great attacking instinct.
A loan move this season could be just what he needs. Wednesday have bolstered their attacking line, so game time might be limited.
League One seems the perfect place for him to continue to grow as a player. Wrexham would offer Cadamarteri a chance to learn from some experienced strikers, Paul Mullin and former Owls man Steven Fletcher.
Wherever he ends up, both Cadamarteri and Rohl will be keen to ensure he gets the minutes he needs to make the loan move worth it.
