Wrexham Submit Bid for In-Demand League One Player

Wrexham have submitted a bid for an in-demand League One forward as they look to strengthen their promotion chances.

The Red Dragons are in the hunt for their fourth consecutive promotion, with the Premier League a real possibility next season.

Last summer, they demonstrated their faith in Phil Parkinson. The club’s net spend was higher than that of some elite European teams, including Barcelona, AC Milan, and Borussia Dortmund.

This month, they’ve been linked with some big potential deals. Pete O’Rourke shared that they were aiming to rival Crystal Palace for Sidiki Cherif, a deal that would cost them around £19m.

With that signing yet to come to fruition, they’ve turned their attention to a highly sought-after League One forward in Davis Keillor-Dunn.

Wrexham Submit Bid for Barnsley’s Davis Keillor-Dunn

Football League World have reported that the Welsh side have submitted a bid to bring Keillor-Dunn to the play-off chasing side.

The forward has been on their radar for some time, but they aren’t the only team chasing him.

O’Rourke shared recently that Blackburn Rovers, Preston and Middlesbrough are all watching the 28-year-old. FLW also named Bristol City as another one of his admirers.

With Wrexham being the first to submit a bid, it’s not known whether this will spark the others to do the same.

Why Are So Many Teams Watching Keillor-Dunn?

The English forward has caught the eye of several teams in the Championship, and when you look at his statistics, it’s no surprise.

In a Barnsley team that’s currently just three points above the drop zone, he’s stood out all season.

The attacker has an average Sofascore rating of 6.82 this season. That’s partly thanks to his 11 League One goals, which is the sixth highest in the league.

DKD has been a constant threat in front of the goal for the Tykes. He’s averaging 2.3 shots per game and 1.2 shots on target per game, which is impressive in a Barnsley playing below expectations.

The forward has picked up just one assist this season, some way off the seven he got last season. Although he is averaging 0.7 key passes per game and has created two big chances.

He’s yet to play in the Championship, but his attacking ability is clear to see. Whoever wins the race for him will be adding a great forward into the squad.
