York City striker Will Davies has joined fellow National League side Bromley FC, as confirmed via a club statement on the club’s website.
The 24-year-old joins the club on a loan deal that lasts until the end of the season as Bromley looks to add to their attacking options as they go into the final stretch of the season sitting third in the division.
Davies only joined York mid-way through the season from National League South side Braintree Town, with The Minstermen paying an undisclosed fee for the striker after an impressive start to the season with The Iron, who he signed for in the summer from lower league side Leiston.
Davies Season By Numbers
At the start of the season, Davies made his name known in the National League South with Braintree. During his short spell, he managed to score eight times in all competitions as well as getting three assists, in 16 appearances in the league which earned him his move to York.
During Davies’s spell at York, he scored five times in 21 games and failed to register an assist. Davies has also shown off his abilities away from his goal scoring, he has managed a 78% successful dribble rate, as well as win 9.3 duels per game, showing his ability to back with defenders on both a physical level, as well as a technical level.
As well as this, despite only finding the back of the net five times for York, Davies never failed to test the opposition goalkeeper, averaging 1.4 shots per game, and 0.8 shots on target per game
Does Davies Boost Bromley’s Promotion Push?
Surprisingly, York have let Davies go so quickly after paying a fee for him, especially as they face a relegation battle over the next few weeks. Davies is a player who has goals in him at this level and with star striker Michael Cheek’s availability rumoured to be in doubt, it’s a good move for Bromley to look to add to their forward options.
A stronghold up forward who is dangerous in the box, plus Andy Woodman’s management could make this one of the big factors if Bromley seals promotion and/or the FA Trophy this season.
