Classic PlayStation 2 Star Wars Game Set For Return

Classic Star Wars Game

The 2002 PlayStation and Xbox hit centred around Jango Fett, Star Wars: Bounty Hunter is set for a return to consoles in August with improved graphics and quality of life improvements.

The cult-classic game sees you play as Jango Fett a Mandalorian bounty hunter, who acts as the template for the clone army and the “father” of legendary character Boba Fett. The character first appeared in the second instalment of the prequel trilogy; Star Wars: Attack of the Clones where he battles Obi Wan Kenobi on Kamino, before later being killed by Mace Windu during the battle of Geonosis.

The game is set prior to the events of the film as Fett travels throughout the galaxy collecting bounties as he is hired to track down a Dark Jedi.

The game is set to release on the 1st August 2024 on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series S/X and PC with Steam Deck Support. The re-release will cost £19.99 and will feature a range of improvements including improved environmental textures, visual enhancements, dynamic lighting as well as DualSense controller support for PS5 players. It will also include a new Boba Fett skin for completing the game.

Is this a game we should be looking forward to?

After the disastrous release of the Star Wars Battlefront Classic Collection, fans are right to be apprehensive for another beloved Star Wars game to get the re-release treatment. However, this game is being made by Aspyr, who were behind the popular Tomb Raider I-III remastered games, which were well received.

The game will see some quality-of-life improvements which will hopefully solve some of the, at times janky gameplay of the original (a product of its time) as well as some additional features.
