Lincoln City’s midfield star Ethan Erhahon is attracting interest from several Championship and League One clubs, after being linked to Derby County earlier in the window. 

The Imps talisman was left out of the club’s friendly defeat to Grimsby Town yesterday with manager Michael Skubala admitting to BBC Radio Lincs that the club had firm interest in the player.

The Sincil Bank decision makers have been clear for some time that they would be prepared to sell the 24-year-old if their figure is met.

But now with increased interest and limited time on his contract (understood to be one year plus a club option) it is expected that the player will leave this summer.

Now according to transfer guru Ben Jacobs the Scottish midfielder is attracting a wide range of interest from League One and the Championship.

It was widely reported earlier in the window that Swansea City had seen a low bid estimated to be in the region of £600k turned down but it now appears as though the Welsh club are still at the table.

Oxford United are the other Championship club linked who, according to the journalist, have only enquired of his availability.

The other club that are actively bidding is reportedly Wigan Athletic, but there is no indication how close their attempts have come to the valuation.

Fellow League One side Bolton Wanderers have also enquired about his availability.

This follows earlier reports linking Derby County and Stoke City to the in-demand man.

Everyone who follows Lincoln knows that Erhahon is the jewel in the Imps’ crown and that selling them, after picking him up as a youngster from Scotland would be seen as a major boost to the club’s development model.

After losing Sean Roughan for a compensation fee, and Erhahon’s value at the highest it will likely be before the end of his deal it could be now or never to maximise their profit.

With the season starting and the club still missing some vital players the funds could be the difference between a difficult season and something more ambitious.
