Michael Skubala’s men are the third-tier’s in-form outfit, having avoided defeat for 13 games in a row. During that run, they have conceded just four goals and kept a remarkable nine clean sheets.
Goalkeeper Lukas Jensen has shut-out the opposition six times in Lincoln’s last seven games.
The Dane has been the last line of defence for Lincoln, behind a trio of sturdy centre-backs. Captain Paudie O’Connor, Republic of Ireland under-21s international Sean Roughan and Millwall-loanee Alex Mitchell have become the chosen three
The capable TJ Eyoma and recent injury-returnee Adam Jackson have been unable to break into the starting-11.
It’s not all been about defensive successes for Lincolnshire-outfit, as they have netted 16 goals in their last three games. 6-0 and 5-0 home wins, over Cambridge United and Bristol Rovers, followed a 5-1 triumph over promotion-chasing Barnsley at Oakwell.
Tough Trotters:
Bolton are knocking on the door of automatic-promotion, just four points behind Derby County.
Despite Ian Evatt’s Wanderers recording just one clean sheet in their last four outings, they have been strong defensively throughout most of the season.
A run of seven clean sheets in a row across all competitions in October and November has helped the Lancashire-side to their imposing record.
Nathan Baxter’s injury has been a contributing factor in their recent shakiness defensively, as stand-in Joel Coleman has managed just two clean sheets in his 11 games between the sticks.
Who else made the list?
League One dominates the list of nine teams, with six entries. Blackpool (19), Derby (19), table-toppers Portsmouth (18) and mid-table Wigan Athletic (18) join Lincoln and Bolton.
Championship-side Leeds United sit in third-place. Daniel Farke’s men has shut-out their opposition 19 times so far this term. Three consecutive clean sheets have helped the Whites return to the very top of the division, ahead of Leicester City on goal difference.
A duo of teams from League Two round out the list. Wrexham and AFC Wimbledon both have 18 clean sheets to their name this season, earning them a spot on the rankings.
