Manchester United Set to Offload £70million Forward

Manchester United

Manchester United are reportedly set to offload £70 million signing Jadon Sancho to Serie A giants Juventus.

The English international was signed by the Red Devils back in 2021 for a staggering fee of over £70 million under former manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

However, his time at United has not gone to plan, with the winger struggling for form and gametime, which led to loan moves to his former club, Borussia Dortmund, and Chelsea. Now, it seems Sancho is set to leave the Red Devils this window and sign for Juventus.

The forward has made 83 appearances for United in all competitions since joining from Dortmund.

Sancho was not the only one, though, with teammates Marcus Rashford, Antony, Tyrell Malacia and Alejandro Garnacho all looking for moves.

United have given these players a delayed return date for preseason to work on moves away from Old Trafford.

The sides have reportedly agreed on a valuation of €25 million for the forward.

Giordano also announced that an agreement has been reached between United and the 25-year-old’s agent.

Sancho has one year left on his current United deal, but the club have an option to extend it for a further year.

Is this the right decision?

There seemed to be high expectations for Sancho when he signed for United in a deal worth over £70 million.

However, the 25-year-old has struggled to hit the ground running since joining, making 83 appearances, scoring 12 and assisting six.

Sancho also spent time away from the club, being loaned out to Dortmund and Chelsea, where he impressed in spells, but struggled to capture similar form for the Red Devils. Now it seems the forward is set to leave United after four years for around €25 million.

This could be the best option for both United and Sancho. United will finally be able to remove Sancho’s wages from their books, freeing up some funds to strengthen their side and potentially bring in a player Amorim wants.

This move can also give Sancho a fresh start he potentially needs. The forward has struggled to showcase his ability since leaving Dortmund, and he now has the chance to prove himself and potentially fight for a spot in England’s World Cup squad.

It will be interesting to see how Sancho fares at Juventus and if he can capture his old form.
