Premier League trio Aston Villa, Chelsea, and Tottenham Hotspur are all monitoring Manchester United’s Alejandro Garnacho.

The Argentine international joined United in 2020, signing for the academy before becoming a key player for the Red Devils.

However, it appears Garnacho’s career at United could be coming to an end, with the winger reportedly submitting a transfer request.

The 21-year-old was given a delayed pre-season to look for a move away from Old Trafford.

Garnacho made 144 appearances for the Red Devils, scoring 26 goals and assisting a further 22.

The Argentine has reportedly handed in a transfer request to leave the Red Devils and seek a move elsewhere.

Garnacho was not the only one, though; teammates Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho, Tyrell Malacia, and Antony also submitted transfer requests.

United delayed the pre-season return of the five players to give them time to explore moves away from the club. However, they have now been recalled and are training separately from the first team.

According to the Daily Mail, Aston Villa, Chelsea, and Tottenham Hotspur have all expressed interest in Garnacho.

Villa have been weighing up a move for the winger, whilst Chelsea and Spurs have been monitoring the 21-year-old’s situation.

The Red Devils are reportedly hoping to sell Garnacho, as he would generate maximum profit under financial fair play rules.

Garnacho currently has three years left on his deal at United, which expires in 2028.

Should United sell Garnacho?

United had a disappointing 2024/2025 campaign, finishing the season in 16th and losing in the Europa League final 1-0 to Spurs.

It seems now Ruben Amorim is looking to rebuild his side and climb the table in his first summer window as manager. However, to bring in these new players, they may need to open up some space, and one player who could leave is Garnacho.

It appears that the winger may not be in Amorim’s plans at United, and could leave after a productive season in which he scored 11 goals and provided 10 assists in 58 appearances.

Selling the 21-year-old would represent pure profit for FFP, and the money they receive from Garnacho could be useful in Amorim bringing in players he wants, such as Bryan Mbeumo.

A move away could also be best for the forward, as it gives him a fresh start that he may potentially need elsewhere, allowing him to prove himself and reach his full potential.

While United may not want to sell someone like Garnacho, who has great potential and has put up good numbers for United, it may be the best move for everyone, as United could generate money to reinvest and Garnacho could get a fresh start.
