Barnet Announce Arrival Of National League Promotion Winner - The Deck - Entertainment, Film, Film News

Barnet have completed the signing of former National League promotion winner Jordan Maguire-Drew from Yeovil Town on a loan deal, as confirmed via a statement on the club’s website.

Meanwhile, Barnet winger Courtney Senior has made a move in the opposite direction to National League South leaders Yeovil Town on a short-term loan deal.

The 26-year-old has made 11 appearances for Yeovil Town so far this season, scoring once during a 4-3 loss to Havant & Waterlooville but will finish the 2023/24 campaign with Barnet as they continue to push towards the top three in the National League.

There was initial confusion from the clubs as Yeovil Town confirmed a loan deal whilst Barnet seemingly suggested a permanent switch. However, the club statement reveals Barnet holds the option of turning the loan into a permanent deal on a free transfer subject to various terms being met.

As for Senior, he has made eight appearances in the National League so far this season but is yet to contribute a goal or assist in all competitions.

Maguire-Drew is cup-tied meaning he won’t be able to feature during Barnet’s current FA Trophy campaign. However, he does hold the required experience of being involved in promotion teams as his spell at Grimsby Town resulted in a play-off final victory against Solihull Moors at the London Stadium in May 2022.

Senior leaving the football club temporarily is Barnet’s second confirmed exit of the day following news that Sam Barratt had completed a permanent move back to Maidenhead United.

Writer’s View

Barnet are currently competing for the top three in the National League but have fallen in and out of form over the last few weeks, indicating some sort of change was required from Dean Brennan.

Maguire-Drew has the experience of helping to get clubs out of the National League and this could prove vital for the Bees moving forward.
