Manchester United Eye Champions League Hero

Manchester United are considering a shock move for Real Madrid forward Joselu in the summer transfer window, as revealed by TEAMtalk via Matteo Morreto.

The Red Devils are looking at options in the summer transfer window, and the 34-year-old has emerged as one name they could potentially bring in.

The Spanish forward was the name on the lips of more than Real Madrid fans last night as he scored twice to book Ancelotti’s side a place in the final against Borussia Dortmund.

However, as United look at Joselu, Real Madrid have reportedly been told to bring one player from Old Trafford to the Bernabeu this summer.

Real Madrid told to sign Sancho.

Jude Bellingham will meet with his former Borussia Dortmund teammate, Jaden Sancho, in the Champions League final. The two could be teammates again next season, with the midfielder reportedly requesting that they bring Sancho to the Spanish capital. The winger has also been suggested to club president Florentino Perez as a target by former manager Zinedine Zidane.

Sancho is in the midst of what many could call a redemption arc after he was shunned by Manchester United manager Erik Ten Hag. His performances back in Germany with Borussia Dortmund have impressed many, inspiring them to a Champions League final.

It is unsure where Sancho’s future at Old Trafford currently lies, but Erik Ten Hag’s future is also uncertain following their 4-0 defeat to Crystal Palace on Monday evening. That loss was their 13th of this campaign, one of the worst totals in the club’s history.

Joselu’s season at Real Madrid.

The Spaniard has played his part in aiding the Spanish club to the success they have become so accustomed to. He arrived in the Spanish capital from Espanyol after scoring 16 goals in 34 appearances, a figure which was not enough to save the side from relegation from La Liga.

Two goals in the semi-final clash with Bayern Munich last night saw him increase his tally in the Champions League to five goals this campaign. This result saw the side book their place in the final and aiming to further their reputation as the most successful side in the competition, increasing their tally from the 2021/22 final, where they beat Liverpool 1-0.

The forward has been hailed as a super sub for the club, scoring three of those five goals in the Champions League off the bench.

What does Joselu offer Manchester United?

It was announced that United would undergo an overhaul at Old Trafford, with most of the squad up for sale this summer. The futures of Bruno Fernandes and Marcus Rashford have been thrown into the most doubt following this news.

However, many faces are already confirmed to be leaving the club as free agents, most of which are coming within the defensive department for the Red Devils. Jonny Evans and Raphael Varane will leave this summer, while Harry Maguire or Victor Lindelof are also expected to leave.

Anthony Martial will also leave, but Rasmus Hojlund is deemed one player they must hang onto in the summer transfer window. With so many defenders leaving the club, it would seem the area they are going to strengthen the most, leaving little funds for attacking targets such as Viktor Gyokeres. Missing out on Champions League football would also harm their chances of signing a forward of that profile.

Five goals in the competition of Europe’s elite is an impressive return, especially for a forward who was playing for a team that suffered the fate of relegation this time last year. His goal return could be a cheap alternative to bringing in experience to boost the confidence of Hojlund, who is yet to find his stride in Manchester.
