XDefiant Fans Dealt Further Blow

Published

on

Fans of the highly anticipated XDefiant have been handed another setback after the development team confirmed the game won’t be released in the coming weeks, via a statement their Twitter profile.

The first-person shooter (FPS), was previously speculated that it could be released around the end of March/beginning of April, but now fans will have to wait even longer to get their hands on this game.

What is XDefiant?

XDefiant is Ubisoft’s newest adventure and was created to provide direct competition for the Call Of Duty series. The game will be free for Playstation 5, Xbox Series X/S and PC players, featuring plenty of fresh maps, a battle pass system and so much more.

However, the game has been ‘close to release’ since Summer 2023 and is still yet to be released to the public, leading to plenty of frustration from fans following the announcement of the news.

Why has the game been delayed?

According to their official statement, XDefiant has been delayed again due to the game not being ready. This isn’t an uncommon sight, with even some of the bigger titles such as Grand Theft Auto also suffering similar delays.

However, the development team have confirmed that they need to implement more things as well as test these out before making them available for the public.

How could this impact the hype for the game?

Fans have been hotly anticipating the release of XDefiant for months, but additional delays could contribute to a fall in the hype that currently surrounds the game.

Seeing developers delay games because they want them to be perfect, will increase the hype for the game because it means fans will be expecting a lot when it finally releases. However, the constant delays aren’t going to be able to sustain the hype surrounding the release for a long period of time.
